The Bees played a strong second-half and pushed hard until the conclusion of an emotional day. The draw was their first point at Anfield in the Premier League era. However, the point left them in ninth place, missing out on European qualification. This was the first visit back to Liverpool for both Caoimhin Kelleher and Jordan Henderson. Henderson was given an emotional ovation when he left the pitch, and Kelleher arguably played his best game as a Bee, making seven saves. Liverpool legends Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson also played their final game for the team.

Goals

Brentford ended the season with a total of 55 goals for. It's their second lowest total in the Premier League era, but was good enough for 8th overall in the league.

They defended well, only conceding 52 goals, their second lowest in the PL era. This was helped by Kelleher's 10 clean sheets.

All of these second lowest, second bests have been second to their second season in the league, the 2022-23 season when they also finished ninth in the league. They followed up that season with an injury-laden season where they scraped by with a 16th place finish. Let's hope that pattern doesn't repeat this time around.

Final league positions

The Bees started the day in ninth place, and finished the day in ninth place, equal on points with Brighton, but behind on goal difference.

Below, we show the league table as it changed throughout the afternoon. It shows that the Bees were not alone in remaining in place. 13 of the 20 teams started and finished in the same position. Sunderland made the biggest gain, jumping three positions, while Chelsea's slide of two positions was the biggest drop of the day.
