Scoreless draw at Leeds

Neither team could break down the other team's defences, leading to a scoreless draw. The teams also drew when they played each other at the Gtech in December.

What was different

Injured Bees

The Bees' medical room must be getting crowded as there are now eight players missing due to injury, with Mikkel Damsgaard and Kristoffer Ajer being the latest additions. This led to the Bees naming six teenagers to their youngest bench of the season. Keith Andrews shared after the game that Dango Ouattara nearly missed the game due to injury as well.

Compared to other clubs, the Bees haven't suffered too badly from injuries this season, but there's really not much margin for additional injuries now. Let's hope that the upcoming international break is good to the Bees.

Pinnock's back

Ethan Pinnock was surely the happiest person in the stadium, as he broke his streak of 16 straight games on the bench as an unused substitute. His start was his first since early December and only his fourth league appearance of the season.

Red sleeves

Many Bees players have embraced their long-sleeve home jersey this season, which has white sleeves. Wearing their home kit on the road against Leeds, however, they needed to make a switch to short sleeves with a long-sleeved red under-shirt, to avoid confusion with Leeds' famous home white kit. Earlier in the season when they played away at Fulham and Tottenham, they wore their brown away kit, avoiding any colour clash.

Single sub

For only the second time this season, the Bees made just a single substitute. As we've already mentioned, their bench was loaded with teenagers. Ouattara and Reiss Nelson were the only non-teenage outfield players on the bench.

The only other time they made a single sub this season was away at Wolves, right before Christmas, when Damsgaard came off the bench for Mathias Jensen. The Bees won that game, so they are undefeated when only making a single sub.

Number of subs Wins Draws Losses Points per game
1 1 1 0 2.00
2 0 1 9 1.00
3 3 3 1 1.71
4 6 1 3 1.90
5 3 1 7 0.91

What was the same

Late start points

This was the ninth time this season that the Bees had an 8pm start. The Bees have only lost one of those nine, drawing six of them. In fact, they've only drawn one match this season at a kickoff time other than 20:00, that being their 16:30 home start against Leeds.

Another draw

On the theme of draws, this was the Bees' third straight draw. This is the first time this season that the Bees have had the same result three games in a row. Late in the 2024-25 season, the team won four games in a row.
